OK...so it is overdue, but at least it was posted BEFORE the Christmas photos. This year was a year of firsts in the Thanksgiving Department;
(1) First Thanksgiving in the UK
(2) First Thanksgiving that the Hachie Gal had EVER made dressing (for those of you who know me that is not really a shock - see next paragraph)
(3) Truly the most international Thanksgiving I've ever spent: 4 Americans, 2 Brits, 2 Aussies, a Canadian, and a Croatian all shared a meal...seems in keeping with the spirit of the day...all of us immigrants in a new land....
Now, before I leave the topic of Turkey Day, I think it is worth noting that if one has never eaten dressing, how does one really know what good dressing tastes like? The answer: you don't. The next best thing: pester your husband who is the dressing expert/cook while he is in meetings with the Icelandic Government in Reycavik trying to solve their banking crisis by ringing his mobile every 5-10 minutes with questions on exactly how much celery and onion, poultry seasoning, and sage should be mixed into the recipe. You know, if Hachie Gal ever learned to cook...ah well, why start now?! In the end, it turned out OK.
Thanks to Cyn and the Paulster for being such gracious hosts.
