Ah…the summer wind came a-blowin’ in, from across the sea…

Can you name that tune? Covered by many artists but my two top favorite artist renditions include “Old Blue Eyes” himself, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Buble.

The lyrics are indeed appropriate because a cool front came blowing in from across the Channel on Sunday evening. When I say cool, I mean the temperature high today was 75 degrees. Simply glorious. On top of the temps, a nice cool breeze has been blowing all day….

We had been a bit dismayed. The mid-80 degree temperatures in the apartment had become old. I mean, come on, we were tired of the hot weather. Tired of no air circulating. Just plain tired of the heat. We were downright cranky.

So on Sunday we took matters into our hands, like any good red-blooded American would do who has been accustomed to A/C all her life…we decided a road trip was in order.

Advantages:
• It was a pretty day, and we had cabin fever. You know, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
• We are always up for sightseeing.
• The car is air conditioned…need I say more?

I am impressed you live with no AC! Road trip sounds like a good idea! With today at 101 degrees here in 'Hachie, anywhere with AC is the right place! Hope the cool front lasts for you! TH

Not much choice. No A/C in apartments and homes is par for the course. You do what you gotta do.

I'm SHOCKED that you haven't bought an AC yet... that was one of the first orders of business when we lived in bp! it's been brutally hot in nyc the past few days, and i hear texas is even worse! guess that's summer for you, though.

You know, this has been a source of repeated discussion at the apartment. Granted the last 2-3 weeks have been a bit stifling, but the last 2 days have been in the uppoer 60s. I keep thinking that only for 2-4 weeks out of the year, we can do without one. Dusseldorf is not as humid as BP. If it were not the case, we would have needed one for sure. Today, the high was 68...I try to remember that when I think about forking out the dough for the A/C....
