Well technically, it is not 12 days until Christmas, but rather 25 days. Hey-ho...December 1st has arrived and I am already in that festive spirit.
While the Christmas cards are addressed and in the process of mailing, the Budman and I are debating the whole "Christmas tree and decorating" scenario this year. Truthfully, it tires me out simply to envision the putting up/taking down of the tree and all that house decorating involves. We are contemplating the decorating scheme to involve nothing more than a couple of stockings, a few poinsettias placed in well-chosen spots, and a wreath on the front door.
Perhaps some people will say, "Bah humbug".... So be it. This year, we've decided to use that energy in alternative ways to "get into the Christmas spirit" rather than hauling out boxes of ornaments and holiday bric-a-brac.
So confident in the knowledge that I am "OK" with that game-plan, the "first" day of Christmas greeted me in the best way possible...cold weather that required a coat, hat, and gloves, and a fine layer of ice on the car windows. Weather predicitions have even hinted at snow!
Yep...that would do it for sure.
