Abbaye de La Trinite

Fecamp's, an ancient cod fishing port, original claim to fame was as a religious pilgrimage site. Today, all that is left of the famous abbey is the Lady Chapel, La Trinite, but what is there is impressive enough. Founded by the Duke of Normandy in the 11th century, it became the home of the monastic order, the Holy Blood of the Trinite, which refers to the Christ’s blood that supposedly arrived here in the 7th century in a reliquary from the Holy Land.

First, a view of Fecamp’s still active harbour.
