Manoir de Quesnay

Budman had found this very interesting website where private manor homes, chateaus, etc. have been opened up as the French equivalent of B&Bs. We actually stayed in three such places during our 2-week trip, the first being in the general vicinity of the D-Day landing beaches.

Actually, we enjoyed all 3 properties (they were all very different) but we especially like the French couple who were the proprietors of Manoir de Quesnay located in the charming village of Treviers. They were extremely gracious French hosts, and their home was lovely. Photos of the “manoir”: entrance, house, and farm lands.

We actually stayed in the newly restored moat house. You mean your house doesn't have a moat house?

Most mornings, just as sunrise occurred, you could see the mist across the farm lands.

Finally, here was the view from our bedroom window one evening: moonlight over Manoir de Quesnay.

For those of you contemplating a trip to the Normandy and Brittany areas, and you enjoy the B&B experience, you might check out this group. Actually, they also have properties in other regions of France, such as Loire, Maine, etc. Excellent website, user friendly, etc.:

We stayed at Manoir de Quesnay in October 2001. At that time the Moat House was still being renovated. You are quite correct Jacques and his wife were very gracious. It was indeed like living in a fairy tale. Your photos bring back fond memories.
