The Duke of Edinburgh marks his 85th birthday today. He was born on 10 June, 1921, the youngest child and only son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Princess Alice of Battenberg.It appears that only a private birthday celebration is in order today although with the Queen's birthday later this week, they will do a combo public birthday event with the Queen's parade on the 13th, a Royal Marines Band performance on London's Horse Guards Parade on 15 June, as well as national service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral to mark her official 80th birthday.
