Paris Marathon Training: Week 16 of 18
Today’s target run: 60 minutes
Today’s completed run: 60 minutes
My visions of spring break vacation usually center around lots sun, miles of sandy beaches, pool-side/beach-side with the latest bestseller book, sleeping in late, etc. Well, this spring break was a bit different (yes, we are still vaguely aware of this event as friends and family at home still follow this schedule, even though no such beast really exists in Germany). Essentially, it looked more like Christmas break than spring break.
“How so?”, you may ask. Well, during our 9-day vacation throughout Germany, it snowed in every city we visited, the winter wind was fierce on more than one occasion, and the temperatures on some days were never above freezing. No bathing suits and tanning lotion required this year….
Still, I can go for the “winter wonderland” concept almost anytime….
Dusseldorf sees snow just as the guests arrive in town…
Standing along the Rhine river, Hachie Gal and JoBeth huddle together for warmth in Cologne as snow flurries abound.
Joe and JoBeth shop for nussknackers in Cologne.
Buddy, or "Elephant Man" as he came to be called...yes, it was that cold....
