Paris Marathon Training: Week 14 of 18
Today’s target run: 1 hour
Today’s completed run: 1 hour
A quick trip to the Paris Marathon website confirms that the medical certificate has been received by marathon race organizers and I am “good to go”. Train tickets are in hand, and hotel reservations have been made. Only 4 more weeks of running left as well…that taper is sure starting to look good.
For those of you interested in checking out the marathon course:
Take a look at this map along with the detailed course description, which can be obtained at: http://www.parismarathon.com/marathon/2006/us/r1_parcours_01.html

let that briefing pack come through now.... where does your support team need to be positioned, what kind of "goodies" do we distribute to you, what kind of cheering on is required where, etc. etc...
Looking forward to this...
This is either Stef or Cyn....you, are too funny!!!! Does this mean that the training team needs..."training"?
I'd like to make sure that we can live up to the expectations, and I'm sure you have worked out a very detailed plan along the lines:
Mile 1: furious cheering on
Mile 2: pass that first gel pack, someone's hungry
Mile 3: don't look at me, I'm starting to sweat
Mile 4: dito
Mile 5: someone's getting thirsty, where's the gatorade
and so forth
By Mile 11 you probably go: stop the cheering, it's driving me mad
by Mile 12 you'll want the shoes changed etc...
and clearly we need to have a briefing on all that but I suggest we're not going to do a "dry run"...
No plan as of yet, but gotta save something to do till the last week. Don't worry. The briefing pack will come through, as is noted by the Mile 2 action. No one is eating or taking a gel pack at this stage of the race. No worries...details are forthcoming.
