Actually, when you look at the photos, you will find it hard to believe that all these photos were taken in one day, as the weather and sunlight changed so dramatically throughout the course of the day.
First, the fog rolled in as we made our way along the Grand Canal by vaporetta to Murano Island for a little tour of the glass factory and some retail therapy (shopping).




Upon arrival on Murano Island, where this tradition of glassblowing has been passed down for generations, we caught a demonstration of the technique used to create this art form.

And yes, a lovely wine set with my name on it is enroute from Venice to Dusseldorf as we speak.
