Sights of Milan

Wandering through Milan with no apparent agenda brought rewards of its own. Buddy and I literally stumbled onto Castello Sforzesco, a large castle and fortress built by Francesca Sforza in the mid 15th century.

Buddy (a.k.a. the Pied Piper) makes a friend in the castle courtyard.

Milan's Duomo - again, sadly under extensive restoration. So much so, that I could not even take a photo of the front of the church, only the back. (This renovation thing is a recurring theme, huh? So, please excuse the fact that the first of the four following photos is not mine. I just wanted to show you what the church looked like). Still it was an outstanding piece of Gothic architecture.

Let's just say that we were restrained. Of course, there are several dog photos at Pompeii. They were everywhere.

Some friends of mine in Grad school spent a semester there and started the historic preservation documents that went into the restoration of this cathedral.

The pictures reall do not do it justice. It was just as outstanding as the church in Florence. They are all amazing for that matter.
